The Timber Industry E-Commerce Group (TIEG) began in 2002. The group is made up of representative organisations that make up the timber industry (and related products) supply chain.
The overall aim is to drive the timber industry forward with B2B e-commerce using a standardised and industry-agreed approach, thereby cutting costs out of the overall supply chain.
The TIEG mission is to:
(1) Make industry-agreed recommendations that address e-trading impediments in the Timber Industry; and
(2) Ensure that all HIWG guidelines and recommendations meet timber industry requirements - in particular - in the areas of product identification, pack details, and labelling and bar coding.
There are currently 9 members of the TIEG.
- The current Chair of the TIEG is Jacqui Turpie (Gunnersen).
- The current Deputy Chair of the TIEG is Jacqui Eyles (CHH, was Pine Solutions Australia).
- The current HIWG TDG representatives of the TIEG are Alison Tom (CHH) and Mark White (Bowens).
The TIEG is also supported by a representative from GS1 Australia (currently John Szabo).
