The Plumbing Industry E-Commerce Users Group (PIECUG) began in 2002. The group is made up of buyers and suppliers in the plumbing industry supply chain.
The overall aim is to drive the plumbing industry forward with B2B e-commerce using a standardised and industry-agreed approach, thereby cutting costs out of the overall supply chain.
The PIECUG mission is to provide in independent industry forum to facilitate the uptake of B2B e-commerce in the Plumbing Industry using the HIWG guidelines and recommendations.
In 2006 there were 11 members of the PIECUG.
- The Chair of the PIECUG in 2006 was Trevor Batten (Vinidex).
- The Deputy Chair of the PIECUG in 2006 was Michael Ngai (Plumbers' Supplies Co-op).
- The HIWG TDG representatives of the PIECUG were Neale Siebert (Rheem Australia) and Lindsay Henry (Caroma Dorf).
The PIECUG was also supported by a representative from GS1 Australia.
Past Chairs of the PIECUG included Neale Siebert (Rheem Australia) and Wayne Ralph (Crane Group).
Much work has been done over the years by the PIECUG group. Most of the collective, plumbing specific issues have been addressed and members have agreed to suspend the group for the time being.
The PIECUG has been suspended for 2007 and until such time that the group, or others in the industry, wish to reinstate the group to work collaboratively on B2B e-commerce implementation issues in the plumbing sector.
